Organized by the Academy of Economic Sciences from Bucharest, Faculty of Economics, Agricultural Food and Environmental Protection from Bucharest, the Advisory Centre for Analysis and Regional Policy from Bucharest, the Institute of Agricultural Economics from Belgrade, Faculty of Agriculture, Belgrade University, Institute of Economy of Agriculture and Rural Development from Bucharest between 24 to 25th September 2010, held an international conference titled: "The Competitiveness of the Economy of Agricultural Food and Rural Development in Terms of the Global Crisis"

In the delegation from Serbia were the Director of the Institute of Agricultural Economics, Belgrade, Prof. Drago Cvijanović Ph.D. and researcher assistant Predrag Vuković M.A., while the front Faculty of Agriculture, University of Belgrade, in delegation was Prof. Grigorije Trifunović Ph.D, president of the Council of the Faculty.
At the start of the meeting of leaders of these prominent institutions, which are in the same time and organized of this important international event, in their speech, welcomed to the participants and wished a successful work. Director of IAE, after the welcoming words in his speech the emphasis placed on strengthening the scientific, economic and all other forms of cooperation between our two friendly countries and between our institutions.

He highlighted the importance of connecting with our institutions to all the positive experiences in the preparation and admission of Romania to the EU as easily transferred to the Republic of Serbia, which is preparing to enter to the EU. During stay in Bucharest, the delegation had the opportunity to become acquainted with the collective of the Academy of Economic Sciences from Bucharest, as well as the work of these important scientific and educational institutions in Romania.
